Once upon a time, in a world quite bizarre, Lived a grumpy old Grinch, who was really quite far, From understanding the things that the Whos held so dear, For their ideas and concepts, he couldn’t quite hear.

One day the Grinch, feeling quite bold, Decided to steal an idea, that he’d been told, Was the most important thing in all of Whoville, But he didn’t know what it was, or how it could thrill.

He snuck through the town, looking high and low, For the abstract concept, that he didn’t know, He searched through the homes, and the town square too, But the thing he was looking for, was really quite new.

He looked in the books, and the speeches and songs, But the abstract concept, seemed to elude him for long, He asked the Whos, but they couldn’t quite say, What the Grinch was looking for, in his thieving way.

The Grinch was confused, and starting to sweat, For he’d come to the conclusion, he hadn’t found it yet, But then something happened, quite out of the blue, He realized the thing he was looking for, was inside him too.

The abstract concept, wasn’t something to steal, It was a feeling, an idea, that could help him heal, It was love, and kindness, and empathy too, The things he had lacked, and he needed to pursue.

So the Grinch returned, with a new point of view, He apologized to the Whos, for what he had done anew, He learned that an abstract concept, wasn’t something to take, It was something to give, and for goodness sake.

And so we learn, from this tale of old, That an abstract concept, cannot be sold, It is something inside, that we all possess, And when we share it, we’re truly blessed.
